A (trans)formação dos seres viventes em Bugônia, de Daniel Galera
This article proposes an ecocritical reading of the novel Bugônias (2022), by Daniel Galera. To this end, an updated critical contribution was mobilized to enable the analysis of the participation of different living beings in the narrative, highlighting metamorphosis as a manifestation of inter and intra-species alliances. The presentation of animals as agents and as capable of language enables readings of the novel that move away from speciesism. Furthermore, the journey of the character Chama is studied from the perspective of a coming-of-age story, altering some of the perspectives present in traditional romance novels. Finally, it is argued that the Organism also participates in this formative process, becoming a sympoetic system.
