Optical System of a Solar Sculpture for Outdoor Installation

The aim of the research is to analyse the possibility of designing and making a vandal resistant sculptural composition using glass and reflective components for interaction with solar radiation. The central concept of the artwork is the creation of a ‘solar calendar’. The research analysed various sources of data to consider existing experience in the field of solar installations. The research considered the development process of the optical scheme, the technological processes involved in the production of the elements of installation, issues related to resistance to vandalism and the energy calculations of the installation.
