Application of distribution network automatic voltage control with fully supervised system in East China
To maintain the distribution network power system stability and power quality, the automatic voltage control system (AVC) is necessary to reduce the fluctuations caused by the growth of penetration level of renewable energy and high-power appliances randomly plug in and out. The application of AVC in a city of East China distribution network is presented in this paper. The AVC application in this city is integrated design on the State Grid Intelligent Dispatching and Command System D5000 platform[1, 7]. Its main function is to ensure that the voltage and power factors are qualified under the premise of satisfying the safe and stable operation of the power grid. And to reduce the active loss caused by unnecessary reactive power flow of the system as much as possible. AVC obtains the control model from the network analysis application and the real-time data collected from the SCADA system for online analysis and calculation. It carries out centralized monitoring, unified management and online control of the on-load voltage regulating devices and reactive power compensation equipment of each substation in the power grid. The closed-loop operation of the optimal control of reactive voltage in the whole network is achieved.
