Advanced analytics extending network capacity access in operational DERMS
Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) provide a backbone platform that facilitates integration of various smart grid applications instrumental to the evolution of DER control in distribution systems. This paper explores the operational considerations of three advanced analytics applications: network model-based analytics, operational forecasting, and DER optimisation. Through a lens of experience based on its operational DERMS deployments, Smarter Grid Solutions (SGS) explores seven existing applications of advanced analytics and the considerations required to succeed in an applied, operational context for the modern distribution utility.
