Capacitive transfer system cables provide inherent voltage support in response to rapidly changing supply and demand

The transition to a sustainable energy system creates challenges in connecting new demand and generation while ensuring distribution networks operate within regulatory limits. Use of Capacitive Transfer System (CTS) cable constitutes a significant change in power system design, providing benefits through a reduction in line reactance. These include enhanced power delivery, improved power factor and lower voltage drop in comparison with the existing conventional cables.

Abstract

The transition to a sustainable energy system creates challenges in connecting new demand and generation while ensuring distribution networks operate within regulatory limits. Use of Capacitive Transfer System (CTS) cable constitutes a significant change in power system design, providing benefits through a reduction in line reactance. These include enhanced power delivery, improved power factor and lower voltage drop in comparison with the existing conventional cables.
