Enhancing DER interconnection through hosting capacity with mitigation solutions
Hosting capacity analytics have traditionally been used to identify the amount of generation or load that can be accommodated on the grid without requiring upgrades. These analytics support utilities in their interconnection processes but fail to identify solutions to integrate load or generation when upgrades are required. Advances in hosting capacity analytics have enabled the study to go beyond simple accommodation and now consider mitigation solutions. The objective of this paper is to present this advanced hosting capacity method to enable integration of resources.
