A study on nowcasting PV generation power in a distribution network of South Korea
In recent decades, solar photovoltaic (PV) generators have been increased in a distribution network. In terms of distribution system operator (DSO), it is very important to be aware of situation of distribution network to operate the system stably and increase hosting capacity. However, most of PVs are not monitored by DSO. Thus, it is bound to be difficult to operate the system. In order to solve the problem, it is needed to nowcast(real-time estimation) generation power of non-monitored PVs. KEPCO has developed a method to nowcast PV power to monitor PVs exactly in a distribution network. This paper will introduce the nowcasting method and present a simulation results.
