User survey on V2G and V2H acceptance – motivators and future implications
Bidirectional charging of electric vehicles (EVs) can play an important role in balancing electricity supply and demand in future electric energy system and improve the hosting capacity of EVs and renewable energy resources. However, since the main purpose of the EVs is to provide transportation instead of grid services, it is of crucial importance to consider EV users’ perspective when designing approaches for sustainable EV-grid integration. To this end, EV users’ attitudes towards bidirectional charging was investigated using a survey. The results show that, despite the concerns seen in vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-home, there is hope for large scale adoption of such technology.
