Methods and techniques used to produce electricity forecasts on Enedis’ distribution network at a finer grid than the HV/MV substation
Since 2015 Enedis has been producing and using electricity consumption and generation forecasts for all 2,300 HV/MV substations. However, the increasing integration of renewable energies on the MV and LV networks and the decision to smooth out generation peaks under normal operating conditions have increased the complexity of Enedis’ flows. To ensure the quality of its supply and electrical safety, Enedis now needs a finer geographic grid modelling to anticipate and handle potential constraints, such as congestion or high voltages.
