Enabling the future: digitalizing low voltage networks and enhancing hosting capacity through digital twin
In an era marked by significant technological progress, the digitalization of Low Voltage (LV) networks emerges as a pivotal component in controlling and operating energy distribution systems. This paper underscores the importance of digitalization in integrating Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), Electric Vehicles (EVs), and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems into LV networks. It outlines the essential steps and challenges in creating a digital twin of the LV network, which is crucial for enhancing the network's capacity and ensuring the quality of electrical supply at minimal cost.
