Cost-benefit analysis of new levers to decrease high voltage constraints created by distributed generation
This paper presents an analytical method to compare the technical and economic performance of different levers to decrease high voltage constraints and thus maximise the hosting capacity of existing distribution networks. Based on several yearly load and generation power profiles at a 10-minute time-step, this analysis involves the calculation of various key indicators to evaluate not only the ability of any lever to eliminate voltage limits violations but also its influence in the power losses and the net present cost for the community. This study focuses on medium-voltage feeders hosting loads and generators.
