Electrifing heat: innovations in network capacity management for medium voltage sites
Electrification is expected to play a major role in heat decarbonisation. This is expected to place significant additional burdens upon electricity distribution networks, especially for winter peaking networks. This paper examines an innovative approach to the managing decarbonisation of heat through electrification to large complex sites, connected to the Medium Voltage network, by providing options to site developers to help them minimise the cost of any necessary network upgrades.
