Investigation of Low-frequency Noise Source Localization Technology for Transformers Using a Vector Microphone
Monitoring and localizing the sources of low-frequency noise are crucial for diagnosing transformer sound faults; however, they present significant challenges. This study explored the capabilities of acoustic vector microphones in localizing noise sources in transformers. First, a signal processing model for acoustic source localization using vector microphones was established. Subsequently, simulation analyses were conducted. Finally, experimental validation of the proposed method was performed. The proposed approach showed promise for providing new acoustic measurement methods for transformer fault diagnosis.
