PERCOLATION MODEL OF DEGRADATION OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS

Modern building materials science is tackling an urgent task of designing effective composite building materials with high chemical resistance and durability. The method of degradation functions allows estimating with a given reliability the degradation of building materials and structures used in aggressive environments and to predict the change in their bearing capacity and rigidity, which is of practical interest. Degradation functions can be determined experimentally and from the analysis of degradation models showing the distribution of damage volume and mechanical properties over the cross-sectional area of the sample.

Abstract

Modern building materials science is tackling an urgent task of designing effective composite building materials with high chemical resistance and durability. The method of degradation functions allows estimating with a given reliability the degradation of building materials and structures used in aggressive environments and to predict the change in their bearing capacity and rigidity, which is of practical interest. Degradation functions can be determined experimentally and from the analysis of degradation models showing the distribution of damage volume and mechanical properties over the cross-sectional area of the sample.
