Design of Multi-Channel High Speed Sorting Controller Based on FPGA

As a core technology in today’s industrialized sorting field, optical sorting technology based on machine vision plays an important role in lean production, quality enhancement, renewable resources, and is widely used in related industries such as agricultural products, Ore sorting, and resource recycling. The performance evaluation of optical sorting technology mainly lies in indicators such as sorting accuracy and production capacity, involving two major core technologies: one is precise image acquisition and sorting recognition algorithms, and the other is high-precision material rejection devices. With the increasing demands for the performance of sorting equipment in industrial production, designing a high-precision and rapid response material rejection system has become a key factor in improving the performance of sorting equipment. Therefore, this paper introduces a multi-channel high speed sorting control scheme based on FPGA, which realizes high-speed bus communication protocols through high-performance CPUs embedded within the chip, and designs multi-channel parallel material rejection sensor control logic through the programmable logic features of FPGA, thereby improving the precision and parallel processing efficiency of material rejection control. This significantly enhances the sorting accuracy and production capacity of the sorting equipment.
