Research on the Smoke Alarm Based on DSP System

The focus of this research paper is to develop a smoke detector system for cities that provides timely warnings about smoke and identifies the type of smoke to prevent potential fire hazards. The system uses MQ-2 gas sensor to detect smoke in the hardware part and uses NE555 timer to convert the sensor data into logic output to trigger the alarm when smoke is detected. MQ-2 is connected to the trigger pin of NE555, the threshold pin is connected to VCC, the positive terminal of the buzzer is connected to VCC, and the negative terminal is connected to the output of NE555. When smoke is detected, NE555 outputs a low signal, activating the buzzer. The smoke data is then processed through digital-to-analog conversion (ADC), allowing the one-dimensional data of smoke to be transformed into the frequency domain for analysis. This analysis employs Discrete Fourier Transform (DTF) and Hanning Windows (Hanning Windows), Rectangle Windows (Rectangle Windows) to identify the type of smoke. This design is robust, anti-interference, low cost, easy to install and maintain, and suitable for use in urban high-rise buildings and other application scenarios.
