Research on a Modbus-Based Data Acquisition System for Laser Distance Sensors
This paper focuses on the design of a data acquisition system for the VL53L1 laser distance sensor used in the laboratory’s active reflector experimental platform. The system employs an STM32 microcontroller as the main controller for the VL53L1 sensor, and connects to the host computer via an RS485 bus. By porting the FreeModbus protocol stack onto the STM32, Modbus communication is implemented. The Modbus Poll tool is used on the host computer to test connectivity and send data acquisition commands. This system effectively transmits sensor data (such as current readings) to the host computer, enabling the collection and upload of sensor parameters.
