THE COMMUNICATIVE EQUIVALENCE OF THE ORIGINALAND THE TRANSLATION OF A LITERARY TEXT: THE ASPECTOF TRANSMISSION STATEMENTS WITH LOGICAL PARTICLES INTO GERMAN

The article is devoted to the problem of the degree of adequacy in the translation of modern Russian fiction into German, namely, the problem of transmitting the communicative structure of statements. In order to preserve the integrity of the original work in the version of the target language, it is necessary to correctly reproduce the communicative center (semantic center, rhyme) of the statement. To achieve this goal, it is important to take into account the language tools that serve as markers of the text’s key information (information center). One of these tools is logical particles, which always accompany the sentence components that function as a rheme, and which belong to the universal way of highlighting the rheme of a statement for all languages. At the same time, a lexical block with a logical particle can occupy any position in a statement, which should always be taken into account when translating. To date, insufficient research has been devoted to logical particles as a class of words in the science of language and in translation studies, which may be the reason for their frequent neglect in translation. In this article, using the example of the translation into German of E. Vodolazkin’s novel "Laurel", statements with logical particles are analyzed as important markers of the communicative center of the statement. The comparison of the original and the translation of the analyzed work made it possible to systematize the cases of interpretation of Russian statements with logical particles into German. The analysis showed that in most of the sentences translated into German, the communicative load is preserved due to the correct transmission of the logical particle and the rheme marked by it. In addition, sometimes the logical particle may be omitted in translation, but the rheme of the statement is preserved at the expense of other lexical and syntactic means, which generally does not violate the communicative structure of the original. However, there are often cases when a logical particle in translation highlights another information block or is completely omitted, which leads to a violation of the communicative structure of the statement, and, consequently, a distortion of the meaning of the events described by the author.
