Introducing the Port Electric Distribution Network Concept
In view of extensive electrification of ports in an attempt to attain sustainability, in this paper, an effort is made to briefly outline the specificities of the configurations of the port distributions networks highlighting the issues that need to be carefully considered at both the design and operation stage. Moreover, a novel and rather advantageous approach of designing port networks is presented. It resembles the zonal configurations of ship networks blending in the smart micro grid concept, too.
