Smart Logistics and Sustainability in Logistics 5.0
This systematic review examines how Logistics 5.0 approaches certain problems. Three research questions are in focus: (1) What are the similarities and differences between smart logistics in Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0? (2) Smart logistics in the era of Industry 5.0. (3) How does Logistics 5.0 respond to issues related to climate change and sustainability? Three keywords were used (Logistics 5.0, Supply chain 5.0, Industry 5.0 & Logistics) to search the literature in the SCOPUS and IEEE Xplore databases. In addition to the three main research questions, the occurrence of certain concepts and expressions were also examined in the selected papers. Such terms include green logistics, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI). The digital automation solutions of Logistics 4.0 move towards the collaboration of digitization and human efforts in Logistics 5.0. Logistics 5.0 makes environmental protection a top priority while integrating it with technological innovation. Using Logistics 5.0, the targeted collection, online processing and analysis of data at all levels, as well as artificial intelligence in their decisions, enable unprecedented cost, error and time savings and open the way to a better and more sustainable logistics industry.
