Track of coastal zones through citizen science programs
Due to climate change and the increase of anthropogenic activities in coastal areas, the vulnerability of coastal communities has increased, presenting problems such as coastal erosion. The purpose of this research is to identify coastal sites in the Pacific coast of Panama that are relevant for citizen science programs focused on coastline monitoring. The first list focused on two criteria, accessibility and climatic background, e.g. flood zones due to climate change. From this, and through a multi-criteria analysis, 10 pre-selected sites were obtained. As a result, a matrix of sites vs. criteria was elaborated and these were marked on maps.
