Infrastructure and Battery Capacity Impact on BEMU's Battery Lifetime
The autonomy of battery trains, about 80km today, is too short for 50% of the journey trips in France. Two options could be envisaged to increase the relevant area of battery trains, the partial electrification or increase the specific energy of the batteries. Each choice will have an impact on the battery's lifetime, train operation and battery train economical model. This paper quantifies their impact on the battery lifetime.
