Integration of Electric Vehicles Charging Infrastructure with Renewable Energy Sources in Urban Environments: Modeling and Optimization Perspectives

Mobility will undergo significant transformations over the next two decades, driven by electrification, shared mobility, and autonomous vehicles. While EVs have become increasingly popular due to their energy efficiency, low carbon emissions, and noise reduction, integrating them into urban environments presents challenges and opportunities. This paper explores the integration of electric vehicles (EVs) with renewable energy sources, focusing on a system utilizing fixed vs. adjustable photovoltaic (PV) panels setups to power a public research building and provide efficient EV charging infrastructure. Numerical simulations, supported by in-situ measurements, offer valuable insights into optimal power supply solutions and the integration of EV charging infrastructure with renewable energy sources in urban building environments.
