Validation of different curing methods and their impact on the compressive strength of concrete
The present research focuses on evaluating the impact of different curing methods on concrete compressive strength. The primary objective was to determine how variations in curing methods and temperature conditions affect the compressive strength of concrete. Four distinct curing methods were applied, each varying in initial and final curing conditions. Specimens were prepared and tested for compressive strength at 7 and 28 days, following ASTM C31 standard. The results indicated that curing methodology significantly impacts concrete strength. For instance, specimens exposed to higher temperatures showed higher strengths at early ages, while those left exposed to the elements exhibited lower strengths. These findings provide valuable insights for establishing effective curing practices tailored to Panama’s climatic conditions.
