A Study of Ship Path Optimization Based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Wolf Pack Algorithm (WPA)

With the rapid evolution of the ship transportation sector, the global transportation market imposes increasingly stringent demands on the shipping industry. Identifying the optimal sea route for vessels become paramount in addressing economic and time-related challenges. Firstly, this paper used the particle swarm optimization (PSO) to ascertain the most economically efficient and shortest navigational route when ships encounter obstacles such as reefs or islands during their sea voyage. Secondly, it integrated the wolf pack algorithm (WPA) with the calculation of the optimal sailing path. Finally, the outcomes derived from the particle swarm optimization and wolf pack algorithms were then individually simulated using the MATLAB platform. The simulation experiment validated the viability and efficacy of the intelligent optimization algorithm model in determining the shortest sailing path, thereby furnishing a solid foundation for subsequent ship path planning and design endeavors.
