An Edge Fast Mapping Approach for Temperature Balance in Photonic Network on Chip
Photonic Network on Chip (PNoC) have a lot of advantages, such as high bandwidth, low latency, and stable transmission. However, there is crosstalk noise and insertion loss during optical signal data transmission in PNoC, which affects communication performance and energy consumption. The impact will further increase when the ambient temperature changes. The IP core mapping in PNoC will directly affect the traffic distribution of the network, thereby affecting the insertion loss and crosstalk noise. An edge fast mapping algorithm proposed in the article aims to achieve temperature balance by evenly dispersing the traffic in the network. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed mapping algorithm can achieve fast mapping while reducing the impact of temperature on network transmission energy consumption.
