Rapid Scalable One‐step Production of Catalysts for Low‐Iridium Content Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzers (Adv. Energy Mater. 1/2025)

Water Electrolyzers Intense mixing of metal vapor and large thermal gradients in the precursor-derived high-temperature flame enable the production of Ir-based solid solutions as efficient and stable electrocatalysts for proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE). The one-step prepared solid solution exhibits high performance and stability over 2000 h, but with 10-fold lower Ir loading than the state-of-art in the PEMWE cells. Abstract
