Understanding the Immunological Response, Epidemiology and Effective Control Measures Towards Vibrio vulnificus and Vibrio parahaemolyticus Diseases
The scope of this review is the literature published over last 25 years and present relevant information on immune studies conducted among infected and survived individuals infected by Vibrio vulnificus and Vibrio parahaemolyticus pathogens. Another interesting point is that it presents the epidemiology and fatal¬ity rate of the disease in various countries of the world. The main aim of this review is to show how human immune system response to V. vulnificus and V. parahaemolyticus infection when exposed to the patho¬gens through seafood or/and seawater. A careful understanding of human immunological response to these pathogens from infected individuals and survivors will go a long way to help in development of human vaccine towards V. vulnificus and V. parahaemolyticus disease. It is also worthy of note that proper under¬standing of the immunological mechanisms of these pathogens, will help to successful control the diseases.
