Narrativas de lo cotidiano en la residencia de mayores. Una investigación para mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas mayores

This work is approached from a self-narrative perspective, based on my own experience as director of a nursing home and the life stories shared with a group of people in the twilight of their lives. The evolution of society has allowed for a longer life expectancy, so older people, especially those living in nursing homes, must have the options and tools necessary to enjoy a dignified and full life. In this sense, the implementation of artistic practices in the field of nursing homes is a challenge that, since my participation as director of the center, I assumed under an a/r/tographic approach. This article shows the processes and mechanisms developed for such purposes, and incorporates reflections focused on self-narrative research as a way to improve the quality of life of older people.
