O PROCESSO HISTÓRICO DAS PENAS E A INFLUÊNCIA DO CAPITAL
This research focused on understanding the possible influences of capital and the Enlightenment on the process of transitioning sentences. To achieve this objective, some guiding questions were used: Was the influence of capital decisive in the process of transforming sentences? Did the influence of the Enlightenment movement, with its ideals of rationality, freedom and equality, contribute to the humanization and rationalization of the penal system? By analyzing the historical process of sentences, it is possible to observe the complexity of the relationships between power, justice and capital, reflecting the interests and ideologies that underpin the criminal justice system.
