DINAMIKA ALIH KODE DAN CAMPUR KODE DALAM KOMUNIKASI PASAR TRADISIONAL PASREPAN KABUPATEN PASURUAN
This research aims to analyze the dynamics of code-switching and code-mixing in communication at the Pasrepan traditional market, Pasuruan Regency, using Suwito's (1983) theory. The study identifies various factors driving the practices of code-switching and code-mixing dynamics, such as socioeconomic background, intercultural interactions, and the pragmatic functions of language within the market context. Through participatory observation and in-depth interviews, it was found that sellers and buyers often engage in code-switching and code-mixing to negotiate prices, build social relationships, and convey messages more efficiently. The data source for the research is the communication between sellers and buyers in the Pasrepan traditional market, Pasuruan Regency. The researchers collected data using audio recordings with a descriptive qualitative method, aiming to: (1) Describe the dynamics of code-switching in communication at the Pasrepan Traditional Market, Pasuruan Regency, (2) Describe the dynamics of code-mixing in communication at the Pasrepan Traditional Market, Pasuruan Regency. This study not only highlights the importance of understanding language dynamics in traditional markets but also provides insights into how these practices can influence language learning and social interaction in multicultural environments. Therefore, the results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of an Indonesian language learning model that can minimize the practices of code-switching and code-mixing, while also enriching sociolinguistic studies on language interaction in traditional markets in Indonesia.
