PESSOA COM ALZHEIMER E IMPACTOS DO CUIDADOR
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative condition that presents significant challenges not only for patients, but also for caregivers. In view of this, the present work aims to develop a study on the person with Alzheimer’s disease and the impacts of the caregiver. The methodology used in the study was a literature review, based on books and scientific articles from various areas on the subject. The results showed that the act of caring for a person with Alzheimer’s, although challenging, can be given new meaning when the caregiver is valued, welcomed and properly supported, so recognizing the specific demands of this relationship and investing in strategies that promote collective well-being is essential for transforming the care experience into a lighter and more humanized process. In conclusion, this study highlights the urgent need for public policies and social actions aimed at both patients and their caregivers, since ensuring emotional support, technical training and adequate conditions for the performance of care functions is essential for facing the challenges posed by Alzheimer’s disease.
