METAPHORS OF TIME IN KYRGYZ AND KOREAN LANGUAGES
This article examines the metaphors of Kyrgyz and Korean. Studies on these languages are rare because of the challenges of examining similarities over time and the use of Chinese characters in preserved information. The cultural features of these languages are revealed through the concept of time, which is closely connected to human life. Phrases such as "chai kainam," "sut byshym," "et byshym," and "koz achyp zhumgancha" indicate "estimated time," revealing cultural commonalities. The author analyzed Korean equivalents such as "ildagyeon" and "sikgyeon," noting their similarities and differences. This study emphasizes understanding the cultural context for interpreting temporal metaphors in both languages.
