THE LANGUAGE GAME AND ITS FUNCTIONS IN ARTISTIC DISCOURSE
This article examines language play in artistic discourse, viewed in modern linguistics as a deliberate breach of language norms, to achieve aesthetic and emotional effects. It identifies various functions of language play such as comic, language-creative, expressive, and indulgent. An analysis of different classifications and approaches shows that language play is an effective tool for crafting complex artistic works, enabling authors to express ideas uniquely and encourage active interpretation. It also explores the pragmatic potential of language play to shape an author's style. The findings of this study are valuable to researchers studying the stylistics and pragmatics of artistic texts.
