FEATURES OF THE TRANSLATION OF KINSHIP TERMS IN THE KYRGYZ AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

This article explores the challenges of translating kinship terms between the Kyrgyz and Russians through a comparative analysis of lexicographic sources. It examines how the Kyrgyz nomadic lifestyle and Russian sedentary lifestyle have shaped their kinship term systems. This study investigates blood relationship terms and properties, their semantic nuances, and translation equivalence issues, focusing on the detailed Kyrgyz system, which accounts for age hierarchy, lineage, and patriarchal traditions, compared to the more generalized Russian system. Terms like "aga," "ini," and "taike," which reflect the unique Kyrgyz tribal system, are analyzed. These findings will aid in developing comparative linguistics and can enhance translation practices and intercultural communication.
