The Ecological Worldview and Cultural Hybridity of Mountain God Worship among Indigenous Far Eastern Peoples: Focusing on the Taz
The taz religion shows a stronger hybridity than other indigenous peoples of the far east. This is due to their ethnic specificity, which is the complexity of their ethnic composition, and their geographical characteristics, which include living on the border between the Russian far east and the northeastern region of China. The sansinye of the Taz is similar in phonetics and meaning to the sansinye of the udege of the Bikin River in the middle reaches of the Ussuri River, the sansinyo of the Nanaj of the Ussuri River, the sansi of the nanaj of the lower reaches of the Amur River, and the sansin of Korea and China. Also, the mountain gods above the Bikin River come in various forms, including bears, tigers, and men carrying bears or tigers. On the other hand, the mountain god below the Bikin River is shaped like a tiger, and tigers were worshipped as mountain gods on the Korean Peninsula. The mountain god and the tiger-shaped mountain god are characteristic of the southern far east, Bikin River, and the Korean Peninsula. According to this, in the past, there was a cultural group in the southern far east, from the Bikin River to the Korean Peninsula, that shared the tiger-mountain spirit.
