Synergistic Extraction of Mn (II) using TPAsO (TriPhenyl Arsine Oxide) And TMA (TriMethyl Amine)
Synergistic extraction of Mn (II) using Triphenyl arsine oxide (TPAsO) and Trimethylamine (TMA) in different solvents namely xylene, benzene, Cyclohexane, Nitrobenzene, Carbon tetrachloride was studied under parameters like temperature, pH, aqueous phase, concentration of metal ion, synergistic mixture. Slope ratio analysis was used to study the properties of extractant individually and mixed extraction, followed by exploring the mechanism by thermodynamic parameters. The study shows that maximum Mn (II) extraction using TPAsO was achieved with xylene where Distribution ratio is 0.875 and Extraction percentage (EP) is almost 58.6%, whereas the effective results were observed in synergistic method comparatively whereas the extraction percentage is 89.88%.
