BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE IN CONTEMPORARY INFOMEDIA
While looking through (reading and listening) a journalistic text, we understand text at five levels. However, the information environment of the modern world does not allow a deeper understanding of news messages. Information noise creates an illusion that we are well oriented in the world, however, upon closer examination of news messages, we can conclude that we usually understand only the surface language structure. Even the second level of understanding is not realized quite often. At the same time, the lack of background knowledge indicates the pointlessness of scrolling the news feed.
