The article examines the peculiarities of the regional lexis of Chelyabinsk used by citizens of Chelyabinsk based on the comments of readers to the publications of news website 74.ru. As a result of the study, examples of regional lexis are discovered and peculiarities of the functioning of regionalisms determined by the conditions of everyday life of citizens and the urban environment as a whole are revealed.
