NATIONAL PECULIARITIES OF RUSSIAN CULTURE BEFORE THE XVII CENTURY
The article presents an analysis of the national characteristics of Russian culture before the XVII century and focuses on the formation of the potential for cultural synthesis, as a ratio of borrowings and identity. The emergence of the Russian state, as a multi-ethnic one, represented entire cultural patterns where there was no dominant nation. Russia's main mission is to reunite and cooperate with other peoples, develop their national cultures and with the entire human race as a whole. Consequently, Russian culture represents the unity of two opposites, namely world and national cultures. The universality of Russian culture reveals the true identity, the substance of the Russian soul.
