THE DIALECTICS OF MYTH AND ETHNOSOPHY
Mythological consciousness is actualized today. One of the forms of this consciousness is the so-called ethnosophy, i. e. trust in “folk wisdom”. “Folk wisdom” manifests itself in folklore, literature, historical reconstructions of rituals and events, specific philosophical and pseudo-philosophical views. Ethnosophy resists scientific and technological progress, capitalist ideology, insisting that “ancestral wisdom” or “folk wisdom” is a guarantee against misfortune and delusion. Ethnosophical consciousness is characterized by localism - it does not claim universalism. In this study, we show how mythology in the aspect of “folk wisdom” interacts with actual knowledge and mythologises it, forming a special worldview perspective.
