ANÁLISE DA INTERAÇÃO ENTRE QUEIMADAS, POLUIÇÃO DO AR E COVID-19 NO ESTADO DE RONDÔNIA
Objective: To investigate whether there is a relationship between exposure to air pollutants arising from fires that occur more severely during the dry period in the state of Rondônia and analyze whether there is a correlation with increases in the number of hospitalizations due to the Coronavirus virus that causes the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in Rondônia (Brazil). Methods: Ecological and exploratory epidemiological study, data on deaths and hospitalizations due to COVID-19 were analyzed, the number of fire outbreaks between the years 2020 and 2021, taking into account the importance of social indicators within the theme, were indicators (IBP) are incorporated. Results: Suggest that poorer populations are more susceptible to communicable diseases, which includes the COVID-19 virus. The results indicate that hospitalization case rates did not demonstrate a positive result during the period of large fire outbreaks. Conclusion: Fire outbreaks showed a positive correlation with hospitalization and death rates. The IBP shows that municipalities that provide the population with better access to healthcare have the lowest fatality rates. Therefore, municipalities with high values regarding the IBP variable indicate a relationship with increases in fire outbreaks and fatalities. with more deaths from COVID-19, especially among the months with the highest number of fires. The IBP showed a significant influence on the distribution of cases of COVID-19 disease in the respective years.
