Self-assessment as a tool for developing the competence of learning how to learn in high school
The article investigates the role of self-assessment in developing the competence of learning how to learn in high school students, highlighting its importance in promoting autonomous learning skills. Self-evaluation is approached as a tool for identifying the strengths and the aspects that require improvement, facilitating a continuous and effective learning process. The study, which involved the application of a self-assessment questionnaire to a group of 75 students from the 10th and 11th grades, assessed various aspects of the learning process, such as organization of the learning process, use of the learning strategies and techniques, critical thinking, motivation and the attitude towards learning, as well as the assessment and personal development. The results indicate that self-assessment has a positive impact on students’ motivation and involvement in the learning process, highlighting at the same time both the benefits and the challenges of this approach. The findings of the study emphasize the need to integrate selfassessment into educational practice and provide recommendations for future research and practical applications.
