Impactul perfecționismului maladaptativ asupra comportamentului alimentar al adolescentelor
Dysfunctional eating behavior in adolescent girls involves a range of unhealthy attitudes and behaviors toward food, weight, and body image, which can seriously impact both mental and physical health. During this developmental stage, many adolescent girls develop an intense fear of gaining weight and an exaggerated concern with physical appearance, seeing weight and body shape as essential for self-evaluation and self-esteem. Dysfunctional eating behavior is influenced by multiple factors, including social pressure to meet unrealistic beauty standards, as well as personal factors such as perfectionism, emotional vulnerability, and anxious tendencies. Maladaptive perfectionism plays a significant role in the development of problematic eating behaviors in adolescent girls. The issue addressed centers on the impact of maladaptive perfectionism on adolescent eating behavior, examining the higher incidence of problematic behaviors among adolescents with high maladaptive perfectionism scores and the increased frequency of emotional eating among adolescents with high levels of perfectionism.
