A study on the characteristics of 3D image visual factors appearing in international film festival posters : Focusing on the official posters of Korea’s three major international film festivals
The International Film Festival contributes to the development of Korean film culture by increasing accessibility to the Korean film industry, including film investment, distribution, and copyright contracts, discovering new film works and creators, and promoting cultural and artistic exchanges, including providing opportunities for communication between audiences, directors, and actors. It also serves as an important platform in globalizing Korean film content. This study investigated 3D images that can induce high visual immersion and provide a visually interesting user experience among the main image expression methods that appear in the official posters of Korea's three major international film festivals, the Busan International Film Festival, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, and Jeonju International Film Festival. By analyzing posters that showed expression methods, the visual factors of 'color', 'Overlapping and Texture Gradient', and 'light and shadow' were derived as the main characteristics of stereoscopic 3D image expression. This is likely to be introduced in various ways in the future in the modern digital environment where visual communication is evolving at a rapid pace and the development of various expression possibilities of the official poster design as a representative image with artistry and popularity for the successful hosting of domestic international film festivals. It was presented as basic data for the future development potential of domestic international film festival poster design using 3D images.
