A Study on the Design Evaluation of Public Facilities at Urban Park in China Based on Big Data Analysis

The purpose of this study is to develop a design evaluation criterion for public facilities in Chinese urban parks based on big data analysis. As a research method, 52 design evaluation factors were collected through big data analysis of China, followed by a survey on the collected factors. Six factors such as Aesthetics, Experience, Practicality, Humanity, Management, and Theme were derived through SPSS analysis. Hypotheses were then set according to demographic characteristics, user characteristics, urban park types, and public facility types, and tested using SPSS analysis. The results showed that there were significant differences in design evaluation factors according to demographic characteristics such as occupation, age, user characteristics such as pet accompaniment, visit frequency, public facility types such as pedestrian facilities, rest facilities, and park types such as historical parks, cultural parks. All the hypotheses were confirmed. Therefore, the evaluation factors derived for the design of public facilities in Chinese urban parks need to be applied in a differentiated manner depending on the variables.
