Land Transactions in Traditional China
Since ancient times, China has been an agriculture-dominated country. Land has occupied a crucial position in the daily lives of farmers, regarded as their "lifeblood." Since the reform and opening-up, Western social science theories and research methodologies have continuously poured into mainland China, challenging traditional perspectives. A substantial number of articles founded on new theories and perspectives have emerged. To place the issue of land transactions in a broader context, this paper reviews the research outcomes and historical dynamics of land transaction issues over the past forty years from three perspectives: the traditional land transaction market, transaction forms, and the phenomenon of price finding. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of this issue.
