Historismus v rokokovém malířství ve střední Evropě. Případ Slezska
There is an evident programmatic turn towards the works of the great masters of the late Renaissance and High Baroque in the work of numerous Rococo and late Baroque painters in Europe. This is also true for Silesia, where artists (B. Krause, M. Brandeis, G. Reinitius) mainly emulated the works of Michael Willmann, the most prominent Baroque painter in Silesia. This historicism had not only an artistic but also an ideological significance, as it expressed the patron’s pro-Habsburg sympathies.
