OPTIMIZATION OF LEGAL SUPPORT FOR STATE DEFENSE AND SECURITY INTERESTS IN INDONESIA
To optimize legal support for Indonesia's national security, there is aneed for improvements in transparency, accountability, and flexibility. This involves strengthening legal support in areas such ascybersecurity, maritime sovereignty, and defense procurement, allaligned with Indonesia's defense vision. Collaboration betweenmilitary and civilian roles within a national security framework is alsocrucial for resilience against internal and external threats. Legalreforms should focus on increasing transparency, accountability, andflexibility, while upholding democratic values and state sovereignty.According to Soerjono Soekanto's theory of law enforcement, the keyfactors for an effective legal system are laws, law enforcers, facilities, society, and culture. Challenges in the defense and security sector, including border violations, terrorism, transnational crime, and cybersecurity, highlight the urgency for adequate policy support, personnel, and facilities to achieve national goals.
