Angiomyolipoma in child with gross hematuria: A case report
Introduction: Angiomyolipoma (AML) is a rare kidney tumour, and is usually asymptomatic, but acute treatment to reduce fatality is indicated if an acute symptom occurs. In this literature, we report a case of angiomyolipoma in a child with gross hematuria. Case Description: A 15-year-old patient with bilateral renal angiomyolipoma. The patient complained of bloody urine and blood clots accompanied by intermittent left abdominal pain. A computed Tomography (CT) scan shows that there is an angiomyolipoma-like mass in both kidneys. This indicates that there are acute symptoms that need to be managed. Associated conditions such as tuberous sclerosis (TSC) also needed to be explored due to the fatality. TSC-associated AML is usually bilateral and also with hematuria. Conclusion: In bilateral AML, we should explore other associated diseases due to the fatality.
